NANS Commends Governor Biodun Oyebanji as Ekiti Begins 2025/2026 Student Bursary Payments
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has applauded the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, following the commencement of bursary payments to indigent students across the state for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The commendation was made through the Office of the Head of Administration of NANS National Headquarters, where the association described the bursary disbursement as a positive step toward strengthening educational support and reducing the financial burden faced by many students in tertiary institutions.
The association noted that government intervention programmes are sometimes viewed with skepticism after elections. However, it stated that the ongoing bursary payment reflects a leadership that remains committed to delivering on its responsibilities and prioritizing the welfare of students.
NANS further explained that the financial support would provide relief to many indigent students by helping them meet educational expenses and continue their studies with greater confidence and reduced financial pressure.
The association also acknowledged Governor Oyebanji's continued investment in the education sector, describing the bursary initiative as an important contribution to the future development of Ekiti State through the empowerment of its young people.
NANS Calls for Sustained Support
While appreciating the commencement of the payment process, NANS encouraged the Ekiti State Government to sustain the bursary programme and continue implementing policies that improve access to quality education and promote the welfare of students across the state.
The association expressed optimism that stronger collaboration between the government and student stakeholders would create more opportunities for academic excellence and youth development in Ekiti State.
