A new chapter in student leadership has begun at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) following the official inauguration of a new Students' Union Government (SUG) administration. The ceremony ushered in a fresh team of executives led by Comrade Ajayi Oluwasegun, who assumed office as the newly elected SUG President.

The inauguration officially marked the commencement of the new administration, with members of the executive council taking their oath of office before university officials, student leaders, and invited guests.

Addressing the university community during the event, President Ajayi expressed gratitude to students for the confidence reposed in him and his team. He assured students that the administration would remain committed to transparency, inclusiveness, and purposeful leadership throughout its tenure.

"Our administration will focus on policies and initiatives that improve the welfare of students while promoting accountability and meaningful development across the university."

One of the major highlights of the inauguration was the unveiling of the administration's Four-Pillar Agenda. According to the SUG President, the agenda will serve as the blueprint for the union's activities and is aimed at enhancing student welfare, strengthening communication between the union and students, promoting accountability, and driving developmental projects within the university community.

He further appealed for the support and cooperation of students, university management, and relevant stakeholders, noting that sustainable progress can only be achieved through collaboration and mutual understanding.

Representatives of the university management congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and encouraged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, discipline, and a strong commitment to service. They also urged the administration to prioritise the welfare and academic interests of students while maintaining peace and stability on campus.

The event attracted members of the university community, student leaders, staff, and invited guests who gathered to witness the peaceful transition of leadership within the Students' Union Government.

With the new administration now officially in office, expectations remain high among students that its promises will translate into tangible improvements in student representation, welfare, and campus development.
