FUOYE Students Elect Ajayi Olusegun Samuel as New SUG President
Students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) have elected a new Students' Union Government (SUG) executive council, with Ajayi Olusegun Samuel emerging as the newly elected President following the successful conclusion of the institution's student union election.
The election was conducted electronically, while the collation of results took place at the designated Situation Room in Ado-Ekiti. Senior university officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Tajudeen Opoola, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships, Research, Innovation and Linkages), served as observers throughout the electoral process.
The newly elected President, Ajayi Olusegun Samuel, is a 400-level student of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Ikole Campus. Popularly known as AOS The Unifier and also called Fairsam, he is widely recognized for his commitment to leadership, student development and community service.
Throughout his academic journey, he has served in different leadership capacities while actively championing initiatives aimed at improving student welfare, academic excellence and unity across the university community.
With his election, many students are optimistic that the new administration will strengthen communication between students and management while introducing programmes that will positively impact campus life.
