JAMB Speaks on 2026 UTME Fees, Warns CBT Centres Against Overcharging

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially dismissed rumours circulating online about an increase in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration fees.
According to the Board’s Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, there has been no increment in the registration fees. He emphasized that the approved charges have remained unchanged since 2019 and urged candidates and parents to disregard misleading reports.
Approved UTME Registration Fees (Unchanged)
- UTME only (without Mock): ₦7,200
- UTME with Mock: ₦8,700
- Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700
JAMB also warned Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres against charging candidates above the officially approved fees. The Board stated that any centre found guilty of overcharging will face strict sanctions.
Candidates who have evidence of being overcharged are advised to report such centres to JAMB immediately with proper proof.
