24 indigent students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE , Ekiti State have been offered scholarship by Former Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rtd), Adedayo Adeoye
The event, held at the Fasina Conference Center in Phase III of FUOYE, was attended by prominent university figures like the Registrar, Mr. Muftau Adesina Ibrahim, the Librarian, Dr. Isaac Busayo, the Dean of Law, Prof. Olufemi Abifarin, and others. During the ceremony unveiling the 24 scholarship recipients, the Director of the Advancement Center, Prof. Olubukola Oyawoye, emphasized that the scholarships were meant to ease the financial burden on students and their families. She praised the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, for prioritizing student welfare, saying the scholarships came from donations, including one from retired police officer DIG Adeoye Adedayo.
Oyawoye encouraged students to apply for government student loans, while the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olubunmi Shitu, urged recipients not to waste the opportunity and to give back in the future. The Registrar, Mr. Ibrahim, advised students to avoid distractions and honor the donor, while Dr. Busayo, the Librarian, reminded students of the importance of using the library. The first female SUG President, Abiodun Olorunsola Mary, also congratulated the recipients, encouraging them to stay focused on their studies.
