The Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) recently conducted an inspection tour of the Fasina Conference Center project to evaluate its progress and quality. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, expressed his delight with the rapid advancement of the project, emphasizing its significance as a vital addition to the university’s infrastructure. He noted, “This facility will not only enhance our academic and research activities but also provide a conducive environment for engagement nationally and internationally.”
During the tour, Prof. Olubukola Oyawoye, the Director of the Advancement Center, guided the Council members through the facility while discussing the project’s financing. She revealed that funds were sourced from endowment contributions and staff donations, stating, “This project was initiated by the Advancement Center, utilizing resources generated from the public and university staff at no cost to the university.”
The Council members commended Prof. Oyawoye for her exceptional work and dedication to the project’s success, with Rt. Hon. Nike Omoworare suggesting the addition of a guest house to enhance the experience for conference attendees. “This conference center will boost our academic and research activities,” he remarked, appreciating Prof. Oyawoye’s efforts.
Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Ndukwe praised the building’s structural integrity, noting the impressive quality of work. “The structural strength of this conference center is excellent, and it’s clear that the project team prioritized durability and safety,” she stated.
Prof. Oyawoye expressed gratitude for the Council’s feedback and support, assuring that the project would be completed on time and optimized for use. She highlighted that the Fasina Conference Center aligns with FUOYE’s strategic objectives, fostering academic excellence, research, and community engagement. Prof. Oyawoye also mentioned that more initiatives are in the pipeline.
